About Your Concierge
Bill Green started in the jewelry business with his parents at a very early age. Art and Design were all around him as he spent time with artists, designers, educators, and musicians. He spent time with Native American artisans (and artisan cooperatives) learning the nuances of the culture and technique behind the creative process. Once the family was ensconced in the wholesale jewelry and decorative crafts business they began to import and export these items. During that time he spent time with artists in Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and some of Central America. During the mid 1970’s and early 1980’s Bill (while still helping the family business) set out to work with musicians and on the stage. It was there that he learned to think on his feet and to accommodate changes on the fly. Working with performing artists helped to develop an understanding of the mind set and personality of the performers. Performers often have tightly scripted lives with little time to do the things that most people think of as ordinary – like shopping. When working on stage he realized that his job was to make the performer comfortable and the center of all attention. The audience came to see the show, not the people who made it possible. Bill often feels the same way regarding his commissioned jewelry. It is his desire that the design represents the owner and not the maker.
Shortly thereafter the family opened their first retail establishments which reached a zenith in the mid 1970’s and early 1980’s. Between both sides of the family there were more than 20 retail stores. Since the shops needed repair and design services Bill studied at the GIA, apprenticed for several skilled jewelers and in the 1990’s attended the Miami Jewelry Institute. After Jack (his father and the patriarch of the family business) died in 1987 the family chain stores were closed.
Since the early 1990’s Bill reinvented himself and has concentrated on the operation of one store – Jewelry & Timepiece Mechanix in Haddonfield, NJ. The shop is now the longest continually operated and largest jeweler and watchmaker in Haddonfield. Over the past 25 yrs he has designed jewelry for clients in the performing industry, for society galas, weddings and many important life events.
Your presentation, the unspoken visual, is one of the most powerful tools a person learns to garner for him or herself. As symbols, jewelry tells your story in a quick visual. For women, jewelry instantly projects your status and position. It defines your sensibility and strength to others in business, social and cultural arenas and reveals your inner confidence and spirit. For men, an elegant or custom watch, cufflinks, and other accessories are the outward indicator of your commitment to the success of you and your brand. It's visible and speaks volumes for you.
With an exclusive clientele which include the rich, the famous, and the infamous, along with museums, religious institutions, musicians, sports teams, and galleries Bill (and his handpicked team of designers and artisans) expect to exceed your expectations.
With confidence and discretion we are supremely confident that he can handle any and all of your special needs.
