About Tommy Singer
Navajo master jewelry maker Tommy Singer is known worldwide for his very fine silver work. This is your chance to own an original Silver masterpiece made by the master. His work is highly collected and tends to go up in value. This high end work is highly collectable and there are even pieces he made 20 and 30 years ago that are highly sought after! Thomas Singer is known throughout the world for his jewelry work. His overlay pieces incorporate the most traditional of Navajo design - designs that have endured for many years. Many of these designs are inspired by Navajo rugs and other traditional designs. He is a Navajo Indian from Winslow, Arizona. Tommy Singer states, "Every piece is made with the meanings from my traditional ways - the Navajo way of living. My father was a silversmith. He taught me and wanted me to continue this trade. It was my father's dream that I learn to silversmith so that I can continue his belief."
Overlay is created by "sweating" or soldering two pieces of silver together. The top piece contains a design element which is meticulously hand cut out of silver. The bottom piece is oxidized and often textured with stamping to produce a contrasting background. Once together the work is carefully filed, buffed, and polished to produce this fine finish. This piece was purchased from him over 30yrs ago by my parents (Sadelle & Jack Green) and is a cherished part of my family collection. It is time that someone else owns it and shares it's beauty with the world.
97.4g, 1 1/8" gap, 2 3/8 x 1 7/8"
